Rites Held Sunday for Pioneer of Pembina County

Mrs. Littlejohn of Glasston Died Friday at Cavalier

Mrs. James Littlejohn, 81, a resident of Glasston for many years, died early Friday morning at the Pembina County Memorial Hospital at Cavalier.

Mrs. Littlejohn was born at Inkerman, Ontario, Canada, Feb. 5, 1872, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George E. Van Camp. She spent her early life in Ontario, coming to St. Thomas in 1888. She resided in St. Thomas until her marriage in 1895 to James Littlejohn. The couple then moved to a farm in Midland Township, east of Glasston, where she resided until the time of her death.

Mrs. Littlejohn was a member of the Assembly of God church at Cavalier.

Survivors include two sons, Raymond Littlejohn of St. Thomas and Willard Littlejohn of Glasston; a daughter, Estella Littlejohn of Glasston; a sister, Mrs Hugh Hamilton of Drayton; a brother Reuben Van Camp of Winnipeg; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Jennie Van Camp of Benidji, Minn; four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Her husband died in 1951.

Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at the Methodist church in Glasston with Rev. Lloyd Tandberg of Cavalier officiating. Pallbearers were Myron Stull, George Dickey, Wallace Carew, Norman Ray, Henry Lane, and Frank Heazlett. Burial was in the Glasston cemetery. The Adams Funeral Home of Grafton was in charge of arrangements.
