The eldest of the family of Humphrey and Harriett Littlejohn, Arscott Littlejohn, was born November 20, 1847, Pool Sayrtan Dist., Oakhampton, County of Devon, England. He married Julia Kirkpatrick, December 20, 1871 at Lindsay, Ontario. Miss Kirkpatrick was from Edinborough, Scotland.

The family came to Glasston, North Dakota in 1889, later moved to Bowsmont and in 1906 moved to Manitoba. They had five children: George, Martin, Lena, Frank and Silas, all born in Lindsay, Ontario.
